WM. ROSS ADAMS, CFA
Ross Adams is the founder and President of The Baker-Meekins Company, Inc. He is also responsible for the general management of the firm and its practice in valuing corporate securities. This includes assignments ranging from clients with complex capital structures, applying the most recent financial accounting and appraisal standards required within the appraisal industry and by the SEC, the DOL and the IRS, to the valuation of closely held family businesses. He is also responsible for staff development.
Mr. Adams is a qualified expert on matters relating to the valuation of corporate securities. He has more than 30 years of financial advisory experience including the preparation of a wide range of tax, transaction and advisory valuations; the structuring and negotiation of mergers and acquisitions involving both domestic and international corporations; and the financing of a variety of private and public companies. Mr. Adams has served on the Boards of Directors of Jiffy Lube Inc. as well as a number of privately owned companies.
Mr. Adams has co-authored (with Patrick Ring) or been featured in over 30 published valuation and strategy articles for regional and national publications, including Family Business magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Print & Graphics, etc.
Prior to forming Baker-Meekins in 1987, Mr. Adams was Vice President of Mellon Bank’s Corporate Finance Group. In addition, he headed the Bank’s Business Valuation and Planning Group, which offered valuation and advisory services to owners of closely held businesses. Before joining Mellon, he was a member of the corporate finance group of a regional NYSE member firm, again specializing in appraising and advising closely held businesses.
